From April 15 to 21, 2024, the 30th National Cancer Prevention and Control Awareness Week will take place. This year's theme is "Comprehensive Measures for Scientific Cancer Prevention," aiming to expand cancer prevention and control education and enhance awareness throughout society. Zhang Yongqiang, Chief Physician of the Oncology Department at Beijing Hospital, and Yang Zhengwu, Head of Nolai Medical Cancer Rehabilitation Center, as industry experts, actively respond to the call. They comprehensively disseminate anti-cancer health knowledge and share their perspectives on cancer prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Zhang Yongqiang, Chief Physician of the Oncology Department at Beijing Hospital, mentioned that this year's theme emphasizes "comprehensive" and "scientific." From years of clinical experience, it is evident that treatment is comprehensive and not singular. In the past, major cancer treatments included surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Nowadays, treatment methods are increasingly diverse, with many new approaches such as targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and endocrine therapy, all aimed at controlling tumors. Surgical procedures, once extensive, are now becoming more conservative. For instance, breast cancer patients, who previously had to undergo total mastectomies, can now preserve their breasts and axillae, shortening treatment duration. Chemotherapy drugs have improved in efficacy and have reduced side effects.

Hief Physician Zhang Yongqiang also mentioned that a comprehensive approach includes not only advancements in treatment methods but also requires support from society and policy assistance during the patient's treatment process. For instance, medical insurance policies, cooperation from individual cancer patients, and comprehensive care and assistance from family, friends, and medical staff. With this comprehensive approach, scientifically designed treatment courses can be effectively completed, allowing the benefits of scientific progress to be reflected in individual patients.

In terms of scientific cancer prevention, it is crucial to prevent and reduce the incidence of cancer, detect it early, and treat it promptly. The earlier the detection, the better the treatment outcome and the higher the cure rate. For example, breast cancer patients detected at stage 1 have a cure rate of over 90%.

To fight cancer on a nationwide scale, it is essential to prioritize prevention while advocating for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, leveraging scientific and effective methods and advanced technology is crucial to achieving an integrated approach to cancer prevention, including screening for high-risk groups, early diagnosis, standardized treatment, and rehabilitation services.

Yang Zhengwu, the head of the Nolai Medical Oncology Rehabilitation Center, introduced the center's comprehensive "Cancer Full Cycle Solution." This patient-centered solution emphasizes scientific, comprehensive, and reasonable principles throughout cancer treatment and rehabilitation. It fully utilizes advanced technologies and methods to assist patients in achieving early diagnosis, scientific treatment, physical rehabilitation (tumor disappearance), psychological rehabilitation, and social rehabilitation (return to society).

In cancer prevention, NOLAI reduces the risk of cancer by detecting and effectively killing pathogens such as bacteria and viruses that increase cancer risk.

In the cancer treatment phase, NOLAI's Chief Immunologist, Academician Yan Xiaojun, invented the SEA-MAP technology, which provides anti-cancer vaccines and personalized therapeutic vaccine products through T-DC cells. The principle is to detect antigens in tumor patients' cancerous tissues and then use SEA-MAP technology to create precise tumor T-DC vaccines. This helps guide the immune cells in the body to kill tumor cells and prevent recurrence.

In addition to cancer prevention detection and treatment services, NOLAI also offers a comprehensive rehabilitation treatment plan for hospitalized cancer patients. This includes Traditional Chinese Medicine clinics, sleep clinics, psychological clinics, and nutrition centers. The goal is to assist patients in immune reconstruction and combat cancer through both psychological and physiological support, effectively improving the 5-year survival rate and enhancing the overall quality of life.
