Due to variations in the origin and propagation of abnormal discharges, epileptic seizures manifest in diverse ways clinically, involving motor, sensory, autonomic, consciousness, and mental disturbances. The causes of epilepsy are multifaceted. Through proper anti-epileptic drug treatment, approximately 70% of patients can have their seizures controlled, and among them, 50% to 60% can achieve remission after 2 to 5 years of treatment, allowing patients to work and live similarly to healthy individuals.
